Medical Disclaimer

Last updated: 24 September 2026

OpenORDO is software for clinics. It is not a healthcare provider and it does not give medical advice. This disclaimer applies to everyone who uses OpenORDO, including clinic staff and patients who interact with a clinic's OpenORDO-powered booking page or video visit. It is part of the Terms of Service.

1. OpenORDO does not provide medical care

  • OpenORDO is not a doctor, clinic, hospital, pharmacy, laboratory or telemedicine provider. We do not diagnose, treat, prescribe or monitor patients, and we do not employ or supervise the doctors who use the service.
  • Every doctor, clinic and health professional using OpenORDO is an independent professional solely responsible for the care they provide. Any patient-provider relationship is between the patient and the clinic, not with OpenORDO.
  • Nothing in OpenORDO (including dashboards, records, templates, reports, drug names, dosage fields and autocomplete suggestions, reminders or the public website) is medical advice, a diagnosis, or a recommendation for treatment.

2. For patients

If you booked an appointment or joined a video consultation through a clinic that uses OpenORDO:

  • Your clinic is responsible for your care and your records. Contact the clinic with any medical questions or concerns.
  • Do not use OpenORDO to get medical advice or to treat an emergency. Contact your doctor.
  • In a medical emergency, call your local emergency number immediately (for example 112 in India, 911 in the United States) or go to the nearest emergency department. Do not wait for an online appointment or a call back.
  • Booking through a public booking page does not guarantee an appointment slot, a particular outcome, or a doctor's availability. The clinic confirms and manages appointments.
  • The information a clinic shows on its booking page (services, doctors, qualifications, hours) is provided and controlled by the clinic. OpenORDO does not verify it.

3. For clinicians and clinic staff

You are responsible for:

  • Clinical judgement. All diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions and advice are yours. Use your professional judgement, not the software, to decide what is right for each patient.
  • Accuracy of records. OpenORDO stores what you enter. It does not check that diagnoses, dosages, allergies, medication names or notes are complete, correct or clinically appropriate. Verify allergy information, dosing and interactions using reliable clinical sources before prescribing or treating.
  • Legal and professional compliance. You must hold the registrations and licences needed for your practice, follow your medical council's code of conduct and the laws where you and your patient are located, including record-keeping, consent, prescribing and telemedicine rules.
  • Patient consent and identification. Confirm identity and obtain consent before recording data, sharing links, or conducting a video visit.
  • Backup plans. Do not rely solely on OpenORDO for information critical to safety. Keep a way to reach patients and access essential information if the service is unavailable.

4. Video consultations

  • Video consultations may not be suitable for every patient or condition. The doctor decides if a remote consultation is appropriate, and whether the patient should be seen in person.
  • Video quality depends on the patient's and doctor's devices and internet connection and on the video provider. Calls can drop, lag or fail. OpenORDO does not guarantee quality or availability.
  • The screen shows whether the other participant is connected and whether their camera or microphone is on. This is an indicator only, and should not be relied on as the only way to confirm someone can see or hear you.
  • OpenORDO does not record consultations. If a clinic records a call using other tools, the clinic is responsible for consent and storage.
  • Video consultation is not for emergencies.

5. E-Prescriptions

The E-Prescriptions add-on helps a registered prescriber create structured, printable prescriptions. It does not:

  • check clinical suitability, dosage safety, interactions, contraindications, allergies or duplicate therapies;
  • verify the prescriber's registration, or the legal validity of a prescription in any jurisdiction, or that a pharmacy will accept it;
  • replace a signature, digital signature or other authentication required by the law where you practise.

The prescriber must ensure each prescription complies with local law. Drug lists and autocomplete are convenience aids and may be incomplete or out of date.

6. Reports, reminders and analytics

Dashboards, revenue reports, appointment statuses, low-stock alerts and reminders are administrative tools. They may be delayed, incomplete or wrong, for example if data was not entered. They are not a substitute for clinical follow-up processes.

7. No warranty about outcomes

OpenORDO makes no guarantee about patient outcomes, the accuracy of clinical information entered by users, or that using the software will make a clinic compliant with any healthcare law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, OpenORDO is not responsible for any harm, loss or claim arising from clinical decisions, diagnoses, treatments, prescriptions, missed or delayed appointments, or the content of records. Section 15 of the Terms sets out the limits of our liability.

8. Third-party information

Any third-party medical information, links or content shown in or linked from OpenORDO is provided for convenience only. We do not endorse it or guarantee it is accurate or current.

9. Reporting a problem

If you believe OpenORDO has displayed or stored information incorrectly in a way that could affect patient safety (for example a record showing the wrong allergy after a save), tell the clinic first, and also email support@openordo.com with the subject "Patient safety". We will investigate promptly.
